Rituals founder, Marty Frenkel, was schooled in Architecture and Interior Design in Los Angeles, California. His career began in 1970 handling the leasing, space planning and construction supervision of half million square feet of office space in several Hollywood high rise office buildings. Many of the buildings' tenants subsequently asked Marty to decorate their homes, allowing him to evolve into the residential design arena. In 1978, Marty opened a successful Interior Design Studio/Antique showroom featuring period English and French antiques on trendy Melrose Avenue. In the early 1980s, extensive travels to remote corners of the world sparked Marty's interest in handcrafted items. These experiences inspired him to open a new venue in 1987... Rituals, which would soon become the premier west coast showcase for the “rituals” of Old World craftsmanship.
